In the first stage of work we reviewed the design brief, functional specification and existing screen mockups. We identified several conceptual and specific interaction problem areas, including a cumbersome, non-standard and error-prone program download and management process.

As part of our Design Review, we develop common User Scenarios and then analyze these against the proposed interface design. We assess whether the interface has functionality that is difficult to discover, learn or remember. We examine what important functions may be too inaccessible, are too complex, or may result in erroneous user errors. We compare interactions against well-known system, application and de-facto interface standards. We assess the proposed interface for its scalability, as well as its aesthetic design.
