The SweetPea concept was a portable, hand-held size and weight, Apple MediaScript CD-ROM player.

We were contracted to design "firm" navigation buttons, implemented as part of the hardware, to improve the overall user experience by providing a consistent means of navigation and to maximize screen space for developers.

We analyzed a range of existing CD-ROM titles in different categories to determine the most common and useful navigation features. We then explored a range of alternative buttons and interaction before making a recommendation to the team.

After selecting a preliminary design through meetings with the team, we developed several prototypes that we used to test and refine the design.
