The Companions come pre-configured with applications, network connection profiles, subscriptions and "personality cards" so they are ready to use out of the box with minimal configuration.
The subscription model allows the enterprise to provide easy access to updates of applications and content. The user has easy access to the network and can easily synchronize data with the network and with other Companion devices. The palm Network Companion has a scaled down versionof the Companion interface appropriate for the small form factor and low resolution. |

| The Network Companions will come in many different form factors for varying tasks. Users may have several of the Companions which they use in conjunction with each other. The Palm Companion is an example of the palm sized form factor. | ||||||||||||

| The Handheld Companion is larger, higher resloution and has a keyboard which is appropriate for more data entry intensive tasks.
