For Stage 2 of this project we explored various alternatives for consolidating the functionality of the video and controls. We developed a “remote control” concept that leveraged the user’s familiarity with devices like phones and hand-held devices. This concept was fun and inviting for users and it provided a central interface solution to the functionality that was currently spread out over several windows. The interface supported a “self” view of the caller, that could be optionally hidden. The most important information (the number being called) is located at the top of the remote. Accelerators, such as a Quick Call menu of recent calls was added.
